Apcotex Buys Emulsion Polymers Maker Omnova Solutions
Apcotex Industries, one of the leading producers of performance emulsion polymers in India, has acquired 100-percent stake of Omnova Solutions India Pvt. Ltd (OSIPL), the Indian arm of US-based specialty company Omnova Solutions Inc, for Rs. 36 crore. This is aligned to Apcotex’s long term strategy to tap the full potential of the emulsion polymers industry, through organic and inorganic growth. Omnova Solutions is the only producer of nitrile rubber in India and only the second producer of high styrene rubber after Apcotex. Omnova Solutions has a factory in Valia (Gujarat), which it acquired in 2010 from France's Eliokem International. The French firm had bought the plant from Apar Industries in 2008.

Celanese To Construct VAE Emulsions Unit In Singapore
Celanese Corporation, a global technology and specialty materials company and a global leader in vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE) emulsions, announced it has begun construction of a VAE emulsions production unit at the company’s acetyls facility on Jurong Island, Singapore. The unit is expected to begin production by mid-2016. This Singapore unit will be the third VAE investment by Celanese in Asia, demonstrating the company’s commitment to growth and development of its emulsions business in the region. The Singapore plant will support the Southeast Asia region including India, Australia and New Zealand.

India's Polymer Emulsions Firm Opens Unit In UAE
A leading Indian polymer emulsions manufacturing company has opened a new plant in the UAE, the region's largest such unit, and is set to begin commercial production. The USD 51 million plant has a total land area of about 78,000 square meters with a capacity of 120,000 metric tons per annum, region's largest polymer emulsion plant.
