Some of the common end-user products obtained from tallow fatty acids are soaps and detergents, rubber, plastic, personal care products, and others including food and lubricants. Depending on the presence or absence of double bonds between carbon atoms, tallow fatty acids can be classified as saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. The saturated ones can be further classified as stearic acids, palmitic acids and myristic acids, where the number of carbon atoms in these fatty acids increases from 14 to 18, in the given order, by an increment of 2.
