L'Oreal launched a commercial casting 100 women wearing L'Oreal's waterproof mascara. The commercial intends to 100 women wearing L'Oreal's waterproof mascara, shown the most tearful movie ‘Titanic’. As females do, they were flooded with emotions and wiping their tears. After the movie, they were compared to their before and after movie looks through photoshoots. Result was, L'Oreal's waterproof mascara has been conceded by women.

Mascara is an eye enhancing cosmetic product. It is used to define the eyelashes by darkening, thickening and lengthening them. Mascara is formulated from various pigments, oils, waxes, and preservatives. Mascara mostly comes in liquid product form, but they are also available in cakes and creams. There are two methods to produce mascara namely anhydrous and emulsion method.
 
Black pigmentation is the most trendy mascara product followed by many other colours. Various mineral oils, linseed oil, castor oil, eucalyptus oil, sesame oil lanolin, and oil of turpentine are used to give premium formulated product. Paraffin wax, carnauba wax, and beeswax are the most common waxes found in the mascara formulation.
 
There is high demand for water proof mascara that lasts for a longer duration and is smudge proof. Cosmetic and personal care industry are growing rapidly. The growth of these industries is driving the market for mascara.
