Electric Parking Brake (EPB) systems hold the passenger vehicles still on roads. With the use of button, the brake pads are applied on the rear brakes, electrically. It operates through of two geared electric motors which immobile the vehicle when parked. Safety is ensured through indicator light when electric parking brake (EPB) are applied. Not only safety but the interior of the vehicle is also improved as conventional handbrake lever are no longer required.
 
Electric Parking Brake (EPB) improve the driver’s comfort and convenience and vehicle safety. Advancing technology has improved electric parking brake (EPB) to full four-wheel anti-lock function. Electronic Control Unit and an actuator mechanism support the mechanism of electric parking brake (EPB). Electric Parking Brake (EPB) designs are required to meet FMVSS 105, FMVSS 135 and ECE 13H standards. BMW was the first to install electric parking brake (EPB) in BMW 7 Series (E65).
